The studies in Food Science and Technology at the University of Lleida started in 1993/94. In 2010/11 the Degree in Food Science and Technology started, in accordance with the guidelines and recommendations made by the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).

The degree in Food Science and Technology offers multidisciplinary training in the areas of basic science, food science, nutrition and health, food safety, food technology and quality management.

Studies are taught by recognized specialists in the fields of food technology, engineering, science and economics. 

Students have the opportunity to contact with the business world and research gaining a solid theoretical and practical training.

The graduate in Food Science and Technology has the necessary knowledge and skills to make executive decisions in the production management, quality control, food analysis and control in the food industry and to perform research and development of new food products.
